Learning Outputs:

After completing this program, Graduate will be able to:  

A1:  Show knowledge and understanding of concepts, rules and principles related to basic and vital medical sciences, supporting sciences and general culture.

A2: Explain the concepts, principles, foundations and ethical and legal considerations related to dental science A3: Demonstrate the associated health and diseases of the mouth and teeth from f the symptoms, causes, methods of prevention and treatment.

A4: Describe the different compositions, properties and uses of dental materials and how to use the devices, tools and applications necessary to practice the dental profession.

B1: Practice thinking skills in the diagnosis of oral diseases and read the results of medical examinations and in related sciences.

B2: Determine the appropriate and effective way to treat various oral and dental diseases.

B3: Design a suitable treatment plan for various oral and dental diseases and prioritize treatment.

B4: Choose appropriate and safe dental materials for the patient

C1: Deal with all the equipment, tools and instruments of different dental materials in a scientifically manner.

C2: Practice the practical, clinical and research skills in various fields of dentistry, taking into consideration the ethics of the profession.

C3: Take a comprehensive story for diseases and evaluates the necessary tests to complete the diagnosis with high efficiency.

C4: Describe the appropriate drugs taking into account the side effects of drugs and the personal factors of the patient.

C4: Treat the patient in safely and effectively manner taking into account the evaluation of the results and the appropriate modification of the treatment plan and the proper preservation of patient records.

D1: Communicate effectively with others and expresses his ideas clearly and objectively.

D2: Fluent in time management and use of computer applications and information technology related to dental science and practical life.

D3: Develop cognitive abilities and professional and evaluate academic and practical performance.

D4: Work alone or within an effective medical team and writes medical and research reports.

Graduate Attributes of the program:

Upon successful completion of the program, the graduates will be able to:

  1. Demonstrating knowledge and understanding of concepts, principles, foundations, ethical and legal considerations related to oral and dental sciences.
  2. Describing the different structures, properties, and uses of dental materials, equipment, instruments and necessary applications for practicing the dental profession.
  3. Diagnosing and treating various oral and dental diseases and refer if necessary.
  4. Providing oral health care services within general dentistry field including patients with special needs.
  5. Design an appropriate and effective treatment plan for the treatment of the various oral and dental diseases, determine the priorities of treatment and apply infection control procedures and radiation protection measures.
  6. Practicing analytical and critical thinking skills when diagnosing and treating oral and dental diseases and solving evidence-based problems when providing dental care.
  7. Practicing practical and clinical skills in various fields of dentistry in a safe and effective manner, committing to legal medical criteria and medical ethics.
  8. Interpreting the results of medical and radiological investigations, evaluation the necessary examinations to complete the diagnosis, write prescriptions and medical reports for oral and dental diseases in professional manner.
  9. Educating the patients to spread a healthy life style and preventing oral and dental diseases.
  10. Effective communication with the patients, their relatives, colleagues and dental health team.
  11. Continuous development of knowledge and skills, self-learning and conducting scientific researches to keep updating in dental practice.
  12. Display leadership skills, the ability to use the computer applications and information technology related to dental field. time management and work within a team to deal with various dental cases effectively.
  13. The ability to identify reliable sources of scientific information and have an appropriate research methodology.

Al-Hikma University is a private educational institution officially licensed by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education with the number 1358 dated 26/7/2008 AD. The activity of the Al-Hikma Educational Foundation began in 2004 under the name of the University Institute for Medical Specialties, then the name of the College of Wisdom was added in 2007 AD for technical and administrative majors with a license from the Ministry of Public Health and Population and the Ministry of Education, Technical Training and Vocational Training, respectively.
